India I see in 2030 Essay

I think india in 2030 will be famous spot for its verifiable and mysterical things that can amze any scientist, historian, archeologist, geographers NEW DELHI: India will be world’s third biggest economy by 2030 yet its vitality request will back off to 4.5 percent, worldwide vitality mammoth BP plc (one of the world’s driving global oil and gas organizations) said today. â€Å"By 2030 China and India will be the world’s biggest and third biggest economies and vitality buyers, mutually representing around 35 percent of worldwide populace, GDP and vitality demand,† BP’s boss financial expert Christof Ruhl said discharging BP’s Energy Outlook 2030. There would be â€Å"no flood in vitality request as India industrializes. Request development eases back to 4.5 percent per annum (versus 5.5 percent p.a. in 1999-2010) as upgrades in vitality productivity somewhat counterbalance the vitality needs of industrialisation and framework expansion.† India’s reliance on imports to meet its gas needs will bounce to 47 percent by 2030 while the equivalent for oil will develop to 91 percent. The country will be 40 percent reliant on imports to meet its coal needs. He said India stays on a lower way of vitality power; by 2030 it expends just about a large portion of the vitality that China devours today, at a comparative salary for every capita level as in China today. Throughout the following 20 years China and India joined record for all the net increment in worldwide coal request, 94 percent of net oil request development, 30 percent of gas, and 48 percent of the net development in non-petroleum derivatives. Coal remains the fundamental business fuel, yet its offer tumbles from 70 percent to 55 percent in China because of developing mechanical structure, and from 53 percent to 50 percent in India because of local asset imperatives. Oil’s share is level at 18 percent in China and tumbles to 26 percent in India, obliged by costs and developing import reliance. Gas picks up piece of the overall industry alongside atomic and renewables in the two nations, BP said. In India, the portion of industry keeps on developing, as framework improvement makes up for lost time and assembling extends to ingest a developing work power, however it never arrives at the Chinese level. â€Å"India subsequently remains altogether less vitality concentrated, with a generally high portion of the administration division in GDP.†

Micah

How does the life and service of Jesus mirror the expressions of this refrain from Micah? Christians accept that Jesus Christ was a man who lived around 2,000 years back in Palestine and that he was the Son of God. By his demise and Resurrection, Christians trust Jesus spared individuals from their wrongdoings. They attempt to follow Jesus’ model in their every day lives and utilize his lessons as a manual for how God wishes them to live. In Micah part 6 stanza 8 expressed that â€Å"he has indicated you, o man, what is acceptable. Also, what does the Lord expect of you? To act evenhandedly and to adore leniency and to walk unassumingly with your God.† This would imply that God expects us to do things legitimately and treat others without prejudice; consequently, cherishing others paying little heed to his race, foundation and shortcomings and be calm in soul. Also, this section discusses the very idea of Jesus Christ. We discover that Jesus Christ is the child of God who is loaded with empathy and accepts as the creator of flawless love. He goes to the world in dutifulness and love to the dad so as to demonstrate his extraordinary love to everybody that while we are still delinquents Jesus Christ pass on for us. Jesus Christ realizes that our last goal is on hellfire on the grounds that our debasements separate us from God. But since of his adoration, he does an astounding choice that will assist us with being in paradise. Jesus Christ has been humane to the individuals who are poor (particularly to the individuals who are profoundly visually impaired and wandered off). His definitive articulation of affection is the point at which he obeys God the dad to set out his life to assist everybody regardless of the way that he isn't blameworthy of wrongdoing. Jesus Christ doesn’t merit the passing that he is experienced however he forfeits himself in return for the salvation of the humanity; therefore, he has never been childish and never retains his life due to his extraordinary love for his kin. He doesn’t need to see everybody die except come into atonement. He needs everybody to have an entrance to God the dad through his passing and restoration. It is been written in the Bible that without the abatement of blood there is no absolution so for the last time, Jesus Christ pass on for us so we can get pardoning through his name and to end our conciliatory contribution when we sin. Jesus Christ turns into our symbol of atonement and his valuable blood washes down us as we ask pardoning from him. He has done everything on account of his extraordinary love for us. In addition, Jesus Christ is a simply person. He doesn't denounce individuals who sin or submit botches however he listens generously and pardons them if the individual admits his transgressions. Much the same as the Samaritan lady who has numerous spouses. The lady is blameworthy of wrongdoing since she submits infidelity. At the point when Jesus meets her on the well, he never dismisses her yet can converse with the lady and requests a beverage. The lady attempts to make vindications however Jesus converses with her in a calm way. He even gets some information about her significant other and the lady is sentenced for her wrongdoing so she answers that she has numerous spouses. Jesus as of now finds out about it since he is an all powerful God however in spite of that, Jesus never judge the lady yet rather advise her to go to her better half and sin no more. The lady feels such satisfaction since that is the first occasion when she has not been censured by a Jew and most particularly a Savior has pardoned her wrongdoing. Despite the fact that Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100 % man and claims the wealth that we can never consider yet he strolls unassumingly with his kin. He never boasts his wealth. He goes to the world to serve and not to be served. He strolls with various types of individuals; may it be rich or poor. Jesus Christ even connects with out cast individuals who are experiencing sickness. Numerous authorities particularly the Pharisees question his thought processes yet they can't discover any shortcoming on him since they realize that Jesus Christ has consummately complied with the expression of God. Numerous researchers attempt to examine the realness of godliness of Jesus Christ. This isn't new any longer in light of the fact that in any event, during the hour of Jesus, there were individuals who â€Å"doubt† his character particularly the Pharisees since they were compromised by his essence. For different religions, they think about Jesus as prophet and not a God. Yet, of the considerable number of prophets that we have on the substance of the earth, just the name of Jesus Christ that was ever recorded in the history that he himself raised from the dead and through his name, an individual can cast out evil spirits. Isn’t that stunning? Â

Despite the many attacks in France, little change has occurred in the deterrence of future attacks, the Islamic State promulgating these attacks is best understood as a terrorist organization based on radical Islamic views because of its ties to Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden and Zarqawi. Gender Roles Within The Social Sciences And Humanities

Gender Roles in Marriage Brandon Smith Georgia Southern University Gender Roles in Marriage Gender roles are defined as a theoretical construct in the social sciences and humanities that refers to a set of social and behavioral norms that, within a specific culture, are widely considered to be socially appropriate for individuals of a specific sex. Gender roles differ between different sets of cultures but it is widely accepted that gender roles reflect the expectations that go along with being male versus female. Two words that help to describe the traits that are expected from men and women are: masculinity and femininity. Men are expected to be masculine which entails being strong, competitive, independent and the hiding†¦show more content†¦Traditionally in the United States there has been a widely accepted set of gender roles that occur within a marriage. These roles include the man being in charge of financial responsibility as well as the one of authority and the woman being a homemaker and the primary ca regiver. It is common belief that men should make the key decisions and have the upper hand in power over his wife. Many studies have been taking and there has been evidence that gender role expectations within a marriage can affect couples. The first way is that these typical expectations can serve as goals or a structure that a couple can shape or guide their marriage towards being. The other way is that they can cause a â€Å"counterfactual† occurrence in which partners compare what has happened in their relationship to what could have happened. As time has gone on studies show that the majority of males believe that spouses should share the breadwinning, that men should take on a bigger share of housework and that a wife’s job does not interfere with her ability to be a mother. This provides for a modern shifting of gender roles within a marriage. The shift in gender roles that is most common is the sharing of power within a marriage. Power is defined as stable potential influence in a dyadic relation between two persons. John R. P. French and Bertram Raven have described five different types of

Economic Environment of Black Swan and Unicorn †Free Samples

Question: Discuss about the Economic Environment of Black Swan. Answer: Black Swan A black swan may be referred as an even or a situation that negates beyond what was normally anticipated of a particular situation and is extremely hard to forecast. The term became famous as a result of Nassim Nicholas, a professor of finance and once a trader in the Wall Street. According to the professor, Black swan events occur randomly and are sudden. The conception of black swan came into place after the financial crisis in 2008 and was pioneered by Nassim Taleb, a professor in financial matters(Lebret). According to professor Taleb, Black Swan events are unpredictable, yet they have ramifications that are catastrophic. It is thus crucial for people to consider and assume Black swan events as real and in whatever form it may suffice it is always good to plan in the event it occurs. Taleb also went further elaborating that the financial crisis in 2008 and the black swan idea was as the result of a broken system that had failed. It is such events that create future Black swan situations. Taleb had an accumulated experience of 21 years in the Wall Street as a quant trader, and his primary task was developing models for financial enterprises using the computers. It is from that time that the professor engaged in writing long essays that were later broken into three books. Apart from writing books, Taleb serves as a distinguished professor at New York University majoring in risk engineering and has seen more than 45 reviewed papers written. Unicorn A unicorn refers to a company that was started and does not have an established record that reveals its performance(Barnet). In most cases are companies that have a market valuation of the stock market that is estimated at the cost of more than $ 1 billion. Unicorn came first to be known after it was revealed and disclosed by one capitalist by the name Aileen Lee who was also the founder of CowboyVC, that was the platform for launching a capital fund that was stationed at California. In one of the articles that were written, Aileen looked and analyzed software startups that had been founded in the year 2000 and stated that only 0.07% were valued over $ 1billion. However, there are those that do not reach the $ 1 billion level and are rare just like finding a unicorn(Capital, 2016). According to Lee, the first unicorn was formed in the 1990s, for instance, Google inc. was a clear definition of a unicorn that later became a super unicorn with a valuation estimated at over $100 billion. However, many unicorns are said to be formed in the epoch 2000 and Facebook is the only super-unicorn over the decades(Friend, 2015). After the publication of Lees article, the term has been used in referring to startups in sectors in technology such as the mobile technology and the information technology and such sectors usually high valuations that raise questions of the sustainability of their financial sources. In one of the blogs by an investment Guru, Gurley, who is also a partner at Benchmark capital. Gurley stated that the difference between the initial Public offers and the late-stage raising of capital for the private investors is the fact that more than 80 companies from the public sector have raised their finances estimated over $ 1 billion(Lunn, 2015). Since 2010 and that investors fear missing buying shares in possible upcoming unicorn companies and thus abandoned their risk analysis that was traditional. Continuous debate continues to stir as to whether any of the unicorns in sectors such as technology constitute the dot-com bubble that was experienced in the late 1990s(Garth, 2015).Other individuals are of the argument that a large number of companies that are estimated at a value of above $1 billion is as a result of markets experiencing froth(Capital, 2016). Another case that seems to have stirred a debate across business people is that a large number of enterprises that have valuations that high reflect productivity that is technologically oriented that is almost the same as the printing press that was innovated more than 600 years ago(Carter, 2015). It is also the argument of others that with the onset of globalization and the monetary policies created by the central bank after the Great Recession has generated capital waves that slosh universally hunting for unicorns. Disruptive strategies Industry incumbents that are well-established face the risk of disruption from new entrants that employ new technologies, enterprise models, and approaches that encompass leadership in the markets. Most persons wonder how they can counter the unforeseen threats that could destroy their businesses. The contemporarymanagement entails managing events that are anticipated and the things that can be controlled and entails tapping the best talent and developing relevant capabilities. However, the question that baffles most business intellects is how to manage the unexpected disruptions in the business environment(Mulholland). A disruptive strategy in most cases tends to arise from threats that are disruptive and unexpected and in most cases is based on a new approach. It has also been reported that disruptive strategies may not have been viable or feasible in a certain market but then becomes relevant in a certain environment and at certain times(Hagel, Patterns of Disruption, 2015). The changes in the wider environment characterized by technology and infrastructure make it possible for a new approach that may be profitable. The incumbent, on the other hand, fails to understand and recognize the fact that the status quo is shifting and changing. The incumbent gets hampered by the modifications of the existing business and thus struggles in responding to the needs of the market whereas the new entrant pushes forward in grabbing a large share of the market(Harrison). According to this context, the incumbent tries to understand how the changes in technology and new approaches may bring a cataclysmic effect in the marketplace and also to businesses belonging to the incumbent. According to research conducted by Deloitte for more than 20 years, it encompassed the direction of the next phase of exponentials such as 3D printing and how they may be dynamic(Hagel, Brown, Wooll, Maar, 2015). The research also included cases where the incumbent had been had been thrown out of the market as a result of a reduced share of the market and revealed the facts that the incumbent would have seen and how they would have mitigated the situation if they had known. Insulation of companies against unicorn, black swans and disruptive strategies The year 2008 saw the United States housing market experience what was referred to as financial crash and is one of the most recent and acknowledged black swan events. Only a small number of outliers were in a position to forecast the crash as its effects were catastrophic leading to a global crisis(Capital, 2016). In the same year, that is 2008, Zimbabwe became a victim of the worst inflation in the 21st century, a hyperinflation for that matter. The hyperinflation reached a peak and had 79.6 billion percent. The inflation experienced in Zimbabwe was unpredictable, and nobody saw it coming, and such kind of hyperinflation could cripple a country financially bringing it to its knees. In 2001, there was the dot-com bubble another black swan scenario that was witnessed in America and was very similar to the financial crisis in 2008.America was boasting of rapid economic growth, and there was a robust growth of wealth in the private sector before the economy collapsed bringing in devastating effects(Lebret). It is at this period that the internet was being launched for commercial purposes and thus many investment schemes were investing in building up technologies that had valuations that were inflated and lack of market tractions. It is after the folding of these companies that the funds were shaken and hit hard, and the risk was transferred to the investors. In such above circumstances it is evident that there is nothing that could be done to insulate the companies in Zimbabwe, Russia and the US. If black swans and unicorns occur, there is little that can be done by firms to insulate the companies. For instance, hyperinflation weakens the whole economy, and the onl y thing that can save a company is if it has other branches in other countries. As such it would be in a position to enjoy profits in one of the countries while at the same time experiencing great losses in another country invaded by the black swans and the unicorns. A company can be insulated against the unicorns and black swans by understanding the emerging technologies and develop strategies to cope with such trends in technology. The executives manning institutions where such changes are occurring have the responsibility of ensuring that they remain relevant by coping with the new changes in the market A good example is when technology in a way is disruptive, and this was witnessed back in 2012 when Kodak Co was declared bankrupt after it lost its relevance as the consumers shifted from film to digital photography. The company started losing its track when it lost money for more than twelve quarters and slashed the number of employees employed from 145000 in the 1980s to less than 20000 in 2012.The Kodak downfall is well known by much more so in the epoch where a majority of the people have access to the digital technologies(Hagel, Brown, Wooll, Maar, 2015). The big question is how Kodak missed the opportunity to recognize the rise of digital photography. It is important for the executives to learn from Kodaks experience to avoid losing the market share or even having their businesses become extinct in the market. Many questions are raised regarding the nature of technology that disrupts the already established businesses and why the company fails to react in the event of disruptive strategies(Harrison). One way of averting disaster is to understand the form of new threats that are likely to emerge and identify the disruptive strategies that the company is vulnerable to, and also formulate the catalysts for threats. Pure Capitalism Essays - Taxation, Public Finance, Tax, Income Tax

Pure Capitalism My idea of the perfect government could be called ?Pure Capitalism?. It is based on survival of the fittest and not all people are created equal. To explain this government I will compare it to our current system. The biggest concept is that the people have complete control of most all economic conditions. Taxes: I do not believe in an income tax, I want to choose what I do with my money. Income in my view is a form of double taxation. To make up for the loss of no income tax, the sales taxes would be increased, not only would this allow people to have more control over there money it would virtually eliminate tax fraud. The sales tax could not tax food intended for consumption, clothing, or other Basic necessities of life. On average products the rate would be a flat percentage rate, and on products considered luxiourus the rate would be exponential, much like our current income tax system. A new administration would be formed to control the rates and stop double taxation. The inheritance tax would be abolished, if I want to work hard my life, throw all of my money in the bank, and leave it to my kids so that they can sit around doing nothing till the day they die, I shouldn't have to pay for politicians to do sit around there whole life too. Welfare: The current welfare program pisses me off. In pure capitalism there would be a one year minimum for basic welfare, after that, all you get is a big ?good luck!, no one ever said life was fair?. If you can't get a job in 365 days you don't deserve for me to support you. The only exception here would be if someone was receiving average or higher education, in which the welfare program would last one year after completing the course. A set amount of bonus welfare would be received for each dependent when the program is started, but a deduction larger that the original bonus for any children born after the program has started. This is to discourage the inferior from reproducing. Poor breed poor. Again there is any exception for advrige or higher education received. In order to encourage private businesses to form, an extremely powerful business loss compensation loss program would be designed. In order for an economy like this one to survive, it takes guts on the part of the individual, unfortunately that is the reason many potential Trumps are never discovered. To counteract this, any business which is registered with the gov't and then fails, will have compensation equal to the amount invested in the business initially, that way someone couldn't start a business, inflate the vaule till it is about to crash, then liquidate to receive the amount of the inflated value. They could only get to amount they invested in it back. Labor: Every business needs a power work machine. Labor Unions in my ideal economy would have much more power provided by the government. Corporations would be required to sell stock to its workers. 401(k) plans would be highly encouraged, and other fringe benefits provided. When you retire the amount recieved would be based on two things. (1) How successful you where in life. (2) How hard you worked. With higher emphasis on number 2, people who have lower job skills would still be encouraged to work harder, knowing that it will eventually pay off in the long run. Poor breeds poor, but if the poor stay on the right track, they can still have a decient life. This last section is to cover the broader based ideals in the perfect economy. Kill the ?All people created equal polacy.? Lets face it, some poeple are superior and some are inferior, the minorities can't call for affirmative action by hiding behind that statement. If I want to hire someone based on the color of there skin or there fathers father, I will do it. Forget minimum wage, you get paid what you are worth, if you are worthless you get paid less. Likewise, if you have a good education and give it your all, you are worth more and thus get paid more. Though bleeding hearts would be in tears after reading this, I belive that this economy, though vague, would create a world power compairable to the present world military condition, alowing us to control the weak, not bleed all over them.

The narrator presents the boys as being inexperienced and childish in order to put emphasis on their obliviousness Essay Example

The narrator presents the boys as being inexperienced and childish in order to put emphasis on their obliviousness Essay Example The narrator presents the boys as being inexperienced and childish in order to put emphasis on their obliviousness Essay The narrator presents the boys as being inexperienced and childish in order to put emphasis on their obliviousness Essay Hes done it before, with the murders committed by Mr. Gort, for instance, and the building of the transcontinental railway, or the underground passage between our two houses. The narrator uses bombastic language in order to accentuate their innocence and naivety. This is evident of their foolhardiness, as the two boys are constantly partaking in their own childhood adventures without contemplating the possible ramifications. It is blatantly exaggerated and puts emphasis on Keiths manipulative and domineering nature, as Stephen seems to play along with him. Moreover, these are antecedent events which further accentuate their obliviousness, as they are unaware of what they are up against. Therefore, the narrator presents them as such in order to emphasise the fact that they are out of their depth. The narrator presents Stephen as misled in order to emphasise his obliviousness. I understand now that it will involve frightening difficulties and wrenching conflicts of loyalty. I have a profound intimation of the solemnity and sadness of things. The narrator uses war connotations, such as wrenching conflicts of loyalty, in order to put emphasis on the gravity of their situation. This is a microcosm, in which Keith and Stephens world is perceived as being a war or conflict of some sort and acts as an embodiment of the Second World War, in which it is a sinister world of lies and espionage, as in the Second World War, many people changed sides. Furthermore, frightening difficulties can be seen as an allusion to the Second World War, as the many forces were to face a whole variety of hindering difficulties. In addition to this, wrenching conflicts of loyalty is a cataphoric reference as Stephen finds himself in a troublesome predicament at one point or another: saving Keith from a caning or withholding information to protect Mrs. Hayward. Furthermore, sibilance is used in solemnity and sadness, in order to emphasise the sombreness of their new adventure, with Stephen unaware of what is really going on. This is, in effect, a met anarrative, which puts emphasis on the various effects of espionage, as Keith and Stephens spywork acts as a minor representation of espionage as a whole in society. Therefore, Stephens gullibility is presented in order to foretell his ultimate exposure to the actual realities. The narrator presents Keiths family as chaotic so as to put emphasis on his misinterpretations regarding the Haywards. His family have taken on the heroic proportions of characters in a legend noble father and traitorous mother playing out the never-ending conflict between good and evil, between light and dark. Dramatic irony is used, as we know that Mrs. Hayward is not a traitor at all, yet at the same time is having an affair with Aunt Dees husband, Uncle Peter. This emphasises the sexual awakening and maturing of Stephen, as he has not been exposed to such things thus far. Furthermore, oxymorons are used, good and evil, between light and dark, which is ironic, as Ted is a sadistic, abusive husband and father whilst Mrs. Hayward is a victimised wife, someone who has engaged in an affair with her sisters husband due to the abusiveness of her own spouse. Stephen is not aware of these happenings until later on, and so it accentuates their respective facades, as Ted is a former war hero yet at the same time is a manic husband who abuses his wife and canes his son regularly, whilst Mrs. Hayward is a reserved wife and mother who is pleasant and described as being very attractive. Moreover, His family have taken on the heroic proportions of characters in a legend is both ironic and a hyperbole. It is ironic as Ted Hayward is a sadistic man who abuses his family, and because we later discover that Mrs. Hayward has entered an illicit affair with her sisters husband. It is also a hyperbole as it seems highly unlikely that commonplace people could attain the somewhat abnormal traits of characters from folklore. Therefore, Keiths family is depicted as being immersed in secrecy and as being vague in order to conceal their intentions. Stephen is presented as inarticulate so as to emphasise his insecurities. I find it very difficult now to reconstruct what Im feeling its so large and complex. Perhaps the largeness of the feelings is the most noticeable thing about them. A paradox is used so as to put emphasis on the genuinely sad tinge of the writing, as Stephens low self-esteem is pathetic and it reveals that Stephen might not be a remotely interesting person, which accentuates how insecure Stephen is. Furthermore, largeness is italicised in order to put emphasis on Stephens numerous emotions. Moreover, one can infer that Keith is a foil used to oppose Stephens strong values and so this accentuates his vulnerabilities. Due to Keith, he finds it hard to express himself. Therefore, Stephen is presented as being unable to express himself in order to emphasise Keiths hold over him.

THE IMPACT OF TEAM MAKE UP AND DEVELOPMENT IN RELATION TO MANAGEMENT Essay

THE IMPACT OF TEAM MAKE UP AND DEVELOPMENT IN RELATION TO MANAGEMENT PROCESSES AND RESULTS - Essay Example Since all operational activities of modern firms need to be planned, monitored and evaluated using relevant plans, it is made clear that without the development of such processes the operations of a firm can be set in risk (Daft 2009, p.6). However, not all organizational activities can equally affect the organizational performance; certain activities, like the team make up and development can have a significant impact on modern firms. The above view can be justified by referring to the following facts: a) by carefully choosing the members of a team, the manager can ensure the effectiveness of the team in regard to the allocated tasks (Kline 2003, p.15), b) the choice of the appropriate members of a team also results to the development of communication and cooperation among those persons, a fact that can increase their employee satisfaction resulting to the increase of their performance (Maddux 1994, p.32), c) the members of the team, if they have the necessary skills for their posit ion, could be promoted and support their organization more effectively (Saiyadain 2003, p.27); in all the above cases, the organization would be benefited since the increase of the employees’ productivity would lead to the increase of the organization’s profitability – either in the short or the long term. ... e clear to the employee/ member of the team (Pearn 2002, p.14); the arrangement of relevant training seminars and meetings would be the most appropriate tool for managers that have to develop relevant plans. In any case, the management processes required for the achievement of the best results from individuals and teams cannot be standardized, due to the following reasons: a) the management decisions on all organizational sectors – including HR – need to be aligned with the culture of each organization; b) from the same point of view, management decisions should focus on the achievement of the aims and objectives of the organization involved, c) the resources available in each organization – referring to humans, technology/ infrastructure and funds – cannot be identical or equal to organizations worldwide, d) the conditions in the internal environment of each organization are likely to be differentiated in accordance with the perceptions/ background of emp loyees, level of resistance in regard to the changes promoted across the organization, skills/ competencies of employees, level of communication/ cooperation and so on (Hamlin 2001, p.43). For the above reasons, the management processes regarding the achievement of specific targets through individuals and teams within modern organizations can vary – being influenced also from the performance of each firm’s similar processes in the past. 2. Assess the importance of leadership and performance in emergency management response and analyse key leadership traits for effective emergency and disaster management The role of leadership in the successful development of organizational activities is crucial; particular emphasis should be given on the ability of the leader to respond to cases of emergency (Martin 2006,

Medical equipment lifecycle ( Medical Equipment & Technology Services Essay - 1

Medical equipment lifecycle ( Medical Equipment & Technology Services Management) - Essay Example The technology life cycle of a medical component initiates in the design and acquisition phase, by means of the acceptance process. The technology life cycle of the medical component extends through its application in the clinical environment . Subsequently, it reaches the obsolescence phase where it is replaced and discarded after reaching its maximum life utility. The acquisition, approval and obsolescence of a medical technology occurs only once in its useful life (Chan, 2003, p. 13). The optimal application of technology incorporates a number of occupations and can occur over a variety of instances. This optimal application of medical technology can be deconstructed into two sub cycles. These sub cycles are the acquisition and application sub cycle. The acquisition sub cycle consists of the following events: Technology evaluation- Technology evaluation is a classification of policy study which reviews the short term and long term outcomes which are societal, ethical, legal and economic. These aspects constitute the comprehensive evaluation of the technology (Banta, 2009, p. 8). The gold criteria for clinical research assessment of novel medical technology is historically recognized as the Randomized Control Trial (RCT) (NHTSA, n.d.). A primary tenet of technology evaluation is â€Å"buying smart, not cheap†(University of Boston Massachusetts, 2010, p 9). In the technology evaluation, the following details are delineated: Guiding adaptation and application in medical equipment technology goes hand in hand. The important factor in being successful is carrying out a comprehensive and thorough planning procedure (NSBA, n.d.). Efficient technology designs are directed towards applications, instead of technology. The technology should be based on inputs and not results (See, n.d.). A new medical technology equipment system

Oedipus the King Essay -- Greek Tragedy Oedipus King Essays

Oedipus the King The ancient Greeks were famous for their tragedies. These dramas functioned to â€Å"ask questions about the nature of man, his position in the universe, and the powers that govern his life† (â€Å"Greek† 1). Brereton (1968) stated that tragedies typically â€Å"involved a final and impressive disaster due to an unforeseen or unrealized failure involving people who command respect and sympathy. It often entails an ironical change of fortune and usually conveys a strong impression of waste. It is always accompanied by misery and emotional distress† (20). The play, Oedipus the King, by Sophocles definitely demonstrated the characteristics of an impressive disaster unforeseen by the protagonist that involved a character of respect, included irony, and was accompanied by misery and emotional distress. Tragedies usually chronicle a disaster that was unforeseen by the protagonist. To qualify as a disaster this event must have striking circumstances (Brereton 6). The spectators of the tragedy feel a deep sympathy for the protagonist because the decision made by this character was done without intending evil (New T-349). In Oedipus the King, Oedipus chose to leave Corinth to prevent the prophecy that he would kill his father and marry his mother. Even though this appeared to be an appropriate decision, it was wrong. In the process of leaving Corinth, Oedipus came across his real father at a three-road intersection and during a scuffle killed him. Later he married his mother, Iocastà ª, fulfilling the prophecy. Oedipus did not know that this was his true father or mother because he deliberately made the decision to leave Corinth thinking that Polybos and Meropà ª were his parents. The disaster that occurred her... ...t of the play. The play spoke of the downfall of Oedipus from respected king (someone of status) to a penniless, blind, exiled peasant who was scorned by the kingdom. At the end of the play, Oedipus and his family suffered the disgrace of their true reality. Works Cited Brereton, Geoffrey. Principles of Tragedy. Reaction on stress management seminar Essay

Stress Management Workshop spearheaded by the Third Year Psychology Majors and their adviser Prof. Aminoding B. Limpao was successfully been carried out last March 03, 2013. The 4-hours activity from 8am-12noon were offered to students like me who are taking up the subject Psychology as part of our Course. The objective of the said activity focuses on what’s, where’s, when’s and how’s of the main topic which is â€Å"STRESS† itself. The workshop is about the nature and definition of stress; from where can we acquire it; the duration and when will it occur; and the possible interventions and coping activities that will enable us to manage it. These subtopics were presented to us. Before I went to the venue that day, I was preoccupied with the idea about how the activity would go. Lots of questions were formulated inside my head as of that moment. I don’t know exactly what to expect and what to look forward to. But there are just few things I am sure of, the learning and the knowledge that I will be able to acquire after adds interest in me. I am but a student who crave for knowledge and who search for information which will have a relevant impact into my life in the field of academe and also in my everyday living. Just the thought of positive and informative activity in which I can get something out of it gives vigor and motivation for me to really attend and discover how beneficial it could be to me. Since I have never been into such a Seminar Workshop involving Stress Management and its related topics, I choose to attend willingly aside from the compliance of this requirement. Together with my MSUan co-participants we were welcomed with the comfortable ambiance of the facilitating council with enthusiasm. I was amazed by the number of students willing to learn and sort out how such an activity will help us. I saw familiar faces but most of them were new to my eyes. Having no idea about the process of the workshop puts a little tinge of nervousness that grappled me. However, that strange feeling wear off as the opening of the workshop started. They facilitate ice-breakers and games so as to make us feel comfortable on them, the facilitators. They were very friendly and accommodating making us participant at ease in their hands. We were divided into groups composing 8-10 members. Each of the groups was isolated in a classroom and there the proper session was held. Inside the classrooms we did series of unexpected activities. I like the way they conduct the whole session because it’s not a spoon-feeding type of lecture but a two-way process wherein interaction is there. The facilitators let us discover and evaluate ourselves through asking us questions that aids our learning. These are my summation and learning drawn from the activity in which the questions and objectives presented has been answered. I learned that stress is considered as expected or unexpected constraining force, influence, conditions and the like. These stimuli are stressors which trigger a response from an individual and have relative effect from one person to the other. Stress is a two-faced event that is either negative or positive. They are characterized because of the nature of the cause whether it is from anxiety and pressures that result into a negative effect or it from strivings and challenges that motivate an individual resulting into a positive outcome. With the statements on the latter I can say that stress doesn’t only bring about negativities into our very lives but it also motivate us and compel us to become productive. If we don’t recognized the stressors around us and felt stressed out, probably we will not be able to accomplish tasks which are handed before us. Without stress we will not be able to strive in order to attain or finish something. We get stress for some factors, external or internal factors. External factors are the environment, the people we get in touched with, the activities we are facing every day, the conditions we are into. Internal factors may be classified into the mind setting that we have and the reactions we initiate upon subjected into a stressful situations. Sometimes it’s not always that other people or things are the very reason why we are stressed at times we create our own stress. Stress is everywhere, from the very day that we are born to the very last breath that we take in life. Therefore, we cannot really predict when this stressor will come to visit us. It is proper that we prepare ourselves anytime because during stressful situations our body reacts with it affecting the physical, emotional, cognitive and behavioral aspects of an individual that brings about change to the normal functioning. All of these aspects are interconnected with each other. We cannot really eradicate totally stress but at least we do steps which will lessen our vulnerability to it and to avoid oneself be controlled by this stress. With these, in order to cope up with this and to get back on track is to gain  control over one’s life. We do things which will lessen the baggage that we are bringing through the following activities: diversional activities, finding company to be with, sleep, eat, watching movies, self-isolation and others. But for me the very useful way to manage stress is to identify it, reflect for positive mind-setting, plan acts that will compensate with it, do this acts for the betterment of one self and everything else will follow later on that will finally lead to stress managing and stress relief. I also learned that there are also techniques on how to manage stress by doing massage, nine-joint exercises, relaxation techniques like deep breathing and others. Human as we are, we are created differently from one another. A stress for one may not be a stress for the other. An intervention or coping mechanism against stress by certain may consider by another as an additional stressors. Therefore, we must try to manage ourselves and recognize clearly our individual limits. The Stress Management Workshop, I may say, was a success. We learned a lot and at the same time we enjoyed the routines and sessions they conducted to us. Knowledge was acquired and rest assured this knowledge will be shared to others, be used in my daily living especially when I’m under a stressful situation.

Racism Black Masculinities Book Review - 768 Words

JaDechia Hill Black Masculinities Book Review #1 Racism has reared its ugly face for many decades, destroying families and interrupting lives. Most people do not consciously wake up and â€Å"do† race every day. In fact, many participants are unaware of the racial constraints and barriers that are placed on other groups based on the amount of melanin in the skin. Regarding racism in America, many are under the impression that racism is a thing of the past and that as a country, we have removed the element of racism from our culture. Many make statements like, â€Å"how can that be racist, if we have a black president†, or that person is just â€Å"pulling the race card, they aren’t a real victim† to combat accusations of racism. In events of apparent†¦show more content†¦The civil rights movement exposed how unconstitutional Jim Crow laws were. Civil Rights was assumed to have ended racism. However, Alexander claims that mass incarceration is a â€Å"a stunningly comprehensive and well-disguise d system of racialized social control that functions in a manner strikingly similar to Jim Crow. The War on Drugs takes place in areas of poverty or poor inner city ghettos and dismantles established communities. Those living in these impoverished communities lack political power and voice. Because the war on drugs does not explicitly target these groups, it is easy to write off those incarcerated as â€Å"trouble makers†. She explains that the one group we dislike more than any other are criminals. The war on drugs has been internalized by both people of color and whites to the point that it no longer surprises anyone when a black man is arrested and charged with possession or an act of violent behavior. It is as though it has become an expectation for black men to become a criminal. The media helps to push the idea that black = criminal through their projection of blackness in the media. Thus tainting the American psyche and training the psyche to make that association the blacks are more prone to violence and drug participation. I agree with Alexander that mass incarceration has become a ‘silent killer’ destroying families and â€Å"relegating† persons of color to permanent second class citizens.
